The Mystery of Alabama Stone

The stone was found in 1817 by father and son in Tuscaloosa near a large Tulip tree. On the stone they discovered the letters in Latin, which they could not understand. The stone was taken to the Town of Tuscaloosa AL and placed near the door of the log cabin, which was the office of Levin Powell. Now the stone is housed in the Alabama Archives and History in Montgomery.
